From June 22 to September 14, Gulf Air will offer two flights a week from Abu Dhabi to Salalah departing at 2.50pm on Sundays and Wednesdays, arriving at 4.35pm. Return flights also depart on Sunday and Wednesday at 5.30pm, arriving at 7.20pm.

“As temperatures soar in the UAE, Salalah provides welcome respite from the oppressive heat,” said Gulf Air Acting Vice-President Marketing and Sales Danny Barranger. “It’s the coolest time and the coolest area in the region. Misty hills and garden picnic spots provide beautiful settings for other pursuits including history and culture, bird-watching and water sports. Alternatively visitors can just enjoy the vast sandy beaches. All in all Salalah provides the ideal getaway for a long weekend or a family holiday,” he added.

As an alternative, Gulf Air is also introducing its first daily service to historic Mashad, in Iran, the birthplace of Firdausi, a unique musical tradition and home of exquisite carpets and saffron, the world’s most expensive spice.

Daily flights take off from June 23 through to September 13, departing early evening arriving in the early hours of next morning. The flight times vary slightly from day to day.
