Aswaaq CEO Abdul Al Baset Janahi said the event is part of the company's strategy to encourage the community to recycle garbage and foster environmentally friendly practices.

"One of the main aims of this event is to promote the importance of recycling among the families of Nadd Al Hamar. Preservation of our environment is of upmost importance and by educating our young people about recycling, we hope to set in motion a generation of responsible young adults who are committed to protecting and preserving the environment."

'Recycling Mania' would encourage families to drop off recyclables items at any of the following places - Aswaaq Community Centre, public parking next to Al Rybat Road, Nadd Al Hamar School and Sukayna School.

Each participating family in Nadd Al Hamar would be required to nominate a child who would act as the family ambassador.

"Each participating child's name will be entered into a grand prize draw in which they could win instant prizes," he said.

The 'Family Fun Day' at Nadd Al Hamar School would include events, shows, games and music for all the family with competitions and instant prize draws for the children who participated in the recycling initiative 'Recycling Mania'.

The Aswaaq event is open to all families in the Nadd Al Hamar community and neighbouring locations, but families will need to register by calling toll free no 800ASWAAQ or 279-227.
