Govt to stamp out illegal activities of tour operators

DUBAI — Government authorities in Dubai are keen on stamping out illegal activities of tour operators at the Dubai International Airport, public beaches and parks.

Pro-active initiatives are undertaken to keep the booming tourism industry free from unethical practices to ensure credible and quality experience to visitors.

The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) stops every illegal operator who distributes brochures to Dubai visitors in coordination with the Dubai Police,

If illegal practices of tour operators are witnessed at the public parks, the Dubai Municipality shall coordinate with the DED.

On the other hand, the Dubai International Airport would study the issue further on methods to stop such practices. It was also to dedicate a special area for tour operators to distribute their brochures to the visitors at the airport.

The meeting chaired by Khalid bin Touq, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Manager Licensing and Classification.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Dubai Department of Economic Development, Dubai Police and Dubai Municipality.
