Work teams involved in the 'UAE Census 2005' in the country have been demarcating areas in cities and large villages in preparation for carrying out the census.

Cities have been divided into sectors to facilitate the work of UAE Census 2005 teams.

Areas have been divided in order to make it easier for the census supervisors to carry out field work. According to officials, this will make the census comprehensive and no repetitions in enumeration will occur. Every supervisor will place coloured placards at boundary points between demarcated areas so as to prevent overlapping.

Preliminary results are expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2006. Officials had said the government would be transparent in disclosing the results of the census.
