Jean Pierre Simon, regional general manager of Coral Hotels and Resorts and general manager of the Coral Beach Resort, Sharjah, will be embellished with the prestigious Vermeil Medal of Société d’ Encouragements in France on September 30 in recognition of his career achievements.

He will be awarded at the House of Senate in Paris. Earlier in his career, Simon was also decorated by the governments of Singapore and France.

Starting out as a kitchen apprentice in Switzerland at 15, Simon worked his way around the world and up the career ladder. He left the kitchen and studied hotel management at Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.

After 42 years of his career, Simon’s word of encouragement to the newcomers to the field is to follow their dream, set their goals, go for them and believe in themselves.

About his forthcoming award, Simon said, “It is nice to be recognised and know that you have done something that impresses people. I will cherish this recognition all the rest of my life”.
