Walther Schloenp, 72, was found dead in his cabin aboard the MS Europa on April 19 morning. He died after suffering a heart attack.

The German consulate will repatriate the body today.

Sources from the ship said, “Walther was found dead on April 19 in his cabin deck and the port authorities and police in Dubai were immediately notified. He was travelling alone, unlike most passengers who travel as couples or in a group.”

The sources say he might have boarded the ship in Germany a month back, where the ship began its cruise. It had stopped at several ports on its way to the emirate and its last stop was Mumbai.

Martin Tscherner, Vice-Consul at the German Consulate in Dubai, told Khaleej Times, “We were notified by the cruise company that the German had died aboard MS Europa. We are repatriating the body to his family today.”
