GCC-wide roadshows are a big success

DUBAI — The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) delegation concluded their Gulf-wide roadshows in the Omani capital of Muscat yesterday. The roadshows, that started in Saudi Arabia on December 13, took the officials to various cities of the Kingdom besides Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.

The delegation was headed by Saeed Al Nabouda, DSF CEO and Omar Al Shamsi, Head of the PR Department of the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) except the Saudi Arabian roadshows which were led by Ibrahim Saleh, DSF COO. The delegation also included PR and Media Coordinators Saeed Al Mahari and Shaima Omar from the DSF Media Centre and a large number of representatives from prime Dubai hotels, travel agencies and rent-a-car companies.

Said Saeed Al Nabouda, DSF CEO, “The GCC-wide roadshows were a big success. The response to the event far exceeded our expectations. The GCC trade and residents showed a heightened interest in this special 10th shopping festival as the tour provided ample scope for the UAE delegation to meet their counterparts from the GCC countries during the workshops and conferences and to strike profitable deals. The trade, on their part, are expecting a huge response to this unique festival,” he said.

“The DSF delegation presented the Calendar of Events to the attendees and highlighted the various activities including the exciting gold, cash and cars prizes lined up for the special shopping festival under its 10 Exciting Destinations theme which was received with a lot of enthusiasm. We also extended an open invitation to all GCC families to join in the fun,” said the DSF CEO.

Ibrahim Saleh, DSF COO, informed that it was not only the trade delegation but also the media that showed their excitement in the event. “This 10th special shopping festival is bound to break its own record and also the world record at large,” he said. The Dubai Shopping Festival 2005 runs between January 12 and February 12, 2005.
