Gargash praises Dubai’s anti-human trafficking drive

DUBAI -- Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of UAE National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking (NCCHT), received today a delegation from Dubai Police led by Dr. Mohammed Al Mur, Director of Legal and Disciplinary Inspection Department.

Dr. Al Mur expressed the Dubai Police’s gratitude to the minister for participating in the first forum on human trafficking organised recently by Dubai Police in association with the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.

Lt. Colonel Abdul Rahim bin Shafea, head of organised crime at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), gave a briefing about the role of his unit in combating traffic in human persons.

The Minister expressed satisfaction at the advanced level the Dubai Police had reached in fighting crimes related to human trafficking

and lauded tireless efforts to boost joint action for finding affective measures to fight these crimes.

“The significant efforts being made to create anti-human trafficking units in a record time is a testimony of the high standard of awareness about the responsibility and commitment towards the local and international community to reduce impact of this epidemic,”he said.

He also commended the Dubai Police for attaching proper attention to anti-human trafficking drive under the umbrella of the national plan for fighting the crime.
