Colonel Ahmed Al Awadhi, Director of Criminal Evidence at General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, told Khaleej Times that the burglars were masterly thieves and left not a single fingerprint behind at their strikes.
Their downfall was their uniformity in as much as targets were concerned. This was what landed them in police custody.
"Criminal Evidence experts found that all the burglaries had been committed in the same manner. The burglars used to steal from places where women deposited their valuables," he said.
The fact that the burglars never noticed jewels or other valuables kept in living rooms served as a clue to the experts that the burglars must be women, said Col Awadhi.
"A perfect plan was designed to pursue these women by keeping an eye on flats in Abu Dhabi. The plan worked and the four Jordanian women fell to the trap. They have all been referred to the prosecution for trial," he said.
