Fund raised for animal care
DUBAI — More than Dh40,000 have been raised for K9 Friends and Feline Friends after the 20th Pedigree and Whiskas Pet Show on the weekend.
K9 Friends raised a record sum of just over Dh30,000. Chairperson Jackie Ratcliffe said six dogs were also homed and they expected a busy weekend with follow-up visits to the shelter on the weekend. Feline Friends raised nearly Dh14,000 and also had three cats adopted.
Greek Council
ABU DHABI — A new Greek organisation, Hellenic Council, has been formed recently in Abu Dhabi, and will operate under the Society for Cultural Exchanges between Greece and UAE.
It is an official Greek body that has obtained all necessary credentials from the Greek Government and is recognised as an official body promoting the implementation of the teaching and Certification of the Greek Language.

ABU DHABI —The Licensing Department of Abu Dhabi Police announced yesterday that drivers’ training vehicles in Abu Dhabi will bear two colours — white and orange — from this year.
