The aid workers arrived aboard a chartered UN plane from Kabul, the official at the airport in the United Arab Emirates said. “I haven’t spoken to them but a couple look quite tired and gaunt.”

A local civil aviation authority official said the South Koreans would continue home on Saturday.

“They will be staying overnight in Dubai before taking the flight back to South Korea tomorrow afternoon,” the official said.
