Free Apple repair program for iPhone 6S, 6S Plus announced

Program valid for phones manufactured since October 2018.

Tech giant Apple had admitted that there might be a malfunctioning component in some iPhone 6S and 6S Plus handsets that prevent them from powering on. They have offered to replace the component free of charge under a new repair program.

Although they are yet to comment on exactly what component is responsible for the malfunction, it is possible to enter your phone's serial number into their online support page to see if it is eligible for the program.

Only handsets produced between October 2018 and August 2019- when the phones were discontinued- have been affected by this issue.
