Prof Al Zohaili was speaking at a Press briefing held yesterday to announce the schedule of conference that will take place under the patronage of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

"Islamic scholars will present their research works and open sessions will follow to discuss some contemporary Islamic topics," he said, noting that the organising committee of the conference had extended the date for receiving more researches to March 15. "Many research works did not meet the scientific standards and this fact has prompted the organising committee to ban some scholars from participating in the event," Prof Al Zohaili pointed out.

He stressed that the conference is aimed at monitoring the spread of Islamic knowledge around the world and discussing prospects of cooperation among Islamic scholars to spread awareness about various Islamic topics.
