Former official of Dubai Police is honoured

DUBAI — The Dubai Police yesterday honoured Brigadier Mohamed Ahmed Rashid Al Mari, former Deputy Director of the General Department of the Criminal Investigation, with a medal and a certificate of appreciation. He is currently the Director of the Department of Naturalisation and Residency, Dubai.

The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, Brigadier Khamis Mattar Al Mazina, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, and a host Dubai Police senior officers and representatives of diplomatic missions.

In his speech, Dhahi Khalfan praised Al Mari for his contributions during his tenure with the Dubai Police. He said that Al Mari was an ideal choice for the new post because of his dedication, energy and efficiency. He said, "I know him closely as a friend and colleague for the past 26 years and the new generation should learn from this honest, obedient and transparent person."

"Al Mari had worked in various police departments and he knows how to deal with people and respect their points of view. His appointment by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, is an honour and recognition for his good work and his appointment will enhance the work," he added. Al Mazina said Al Mari had successfully led police teams and contributed a great deal to the development of the police force.
