Expect fair to partly cloudy conditions today with chances of fog and mist formation in some areas
After having joined the newspaper in October 1986, Amirodin moved to Young Times, the youth magazine that came out from the Khaleej Times stables. He worked with the magazine until he left the newspaper in January 2009.
A long-time employee of Khaleej Times, Amirodin was a conscientious worker who endeared himself to his teammates and the office at large.
Amir, as he was known among his colleagues and to a whole generation of Young Timers out there, was in charge of the Otto Club, a Young Times initiative, since its inception. There would be very few young people out there who would not have collected a YT movie ticket from him or made a phone call regarding a gift or a contest. Being the link between the youngsters and schools and the magazine, he was often in the forefront to solve readers’ problems and find solutions.
The extra mile he would take to ensure the success of the annual movie show and QuizYT, the inter-school quiz oraganised by the magazine, speaks of his dedication. His calm and composed nature was an inspiration especially in the face of deadlines.
