Foreign wives, widows can now apply for Saudi nationality
The Civil Affairs also announced that national identity cards for Saudis living abroad will be renewed.
After four years, the Civil Affairs and its branches all over Saudi Arabia have resumed receiving requests from foreign wives and widows of Saudi men for nationality, according to a story in Saudi Gazette.
Applicants will be granted scores based on aspects like the place of birth, educational qualifications, and duration of their stay in Saudi Arabia. A score of at least 17 points is required to process the application.
The authority also announced that national identity cards for Saudis living abroad for study, work and medical treatment will be renewed.
Saudis based outside the kingdom need to fill the renewal application form and submit their fingerprints and photographs with the Civil Affairs and send a representative with a power of attorney representing them.
