The once heavy price tags are now light on the pocket with designer wear going on heavy sale for this Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).

For this DSF, along with a list of adventurous activities, the retail outlets in shopping malls have lined up discounts that are every shopaholic’s dream come true.

Retail stores such as Splash, H&M, New Look and Debenhams have slashed prices. Shoppers at these retail outlets were seen gleefully taking advantage of the 75-80 per cent discounts.

Angela Marquez, a resident of Dubai said, “I bought two sweaters, one green dress and a bag from Promod, Mercato Mall for just Dh800, and there was no way I could shop like this before the festival.”

Angela’s husband Tony, who was lugging shopping bags behind her said, “I won’t complain this year. I mean I myself bought two laptops for a little above Dh3,500.”

The situation is similar in Sharjah, with the Sharjah Spring Promotion giving irresistible offers.

The Sharjah City Centre recently underwent an expansion project with the mall now having a total of 114 shops. Among the new shops that have opened, four have been introduced for the first time in the emirate.

The UK’s leading fashion retailer New Look, book retailer Borders, BHS women, Pablosky and Vincci and Monsoon are among some of these.

Along with these stores, Magic Planet has been relocated to the first floor and has some exciting new rides.

Ali Abdullah, Vice President, Asset Management, Shopping Malls, Majid Al Futtaim Properties said, “We are constantly looking to offer our customers the greatest choices and value, and this redevelopment in the mall has been done keeping the needs of the customers in mind.”

Rania Abdullah, a resident of Sharjah said, “I bought a dress from H&M for Dh39, which was earlier Dh250. I was so happy; I came back and bought two more dresses, shoes and a bag for Dh500”.

“There is no way this sale will continue after the spring promotions.”
