Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality Hussain Nasser Lootah launched the official web site of the conference yesterday.
“By holding a conference of this magnitude, Dubai sets for itself very high standards for food safety with an aim to enhance public health,” he said.
Lootah said the conference is expected to attract more than 500 participants. “Last year’s conference had attracted a huge gathering from the region and the conference has now become one of the most important events related to food safety in the Middle East,” he said.
He pointed out that the conference aims to provide its participants a rich experience that will help them to be more effective in safeguarding public health.
Khalid Mohammed Sharif, Assistant Director of Public Health Department in the Municipality and Chairman of the Organising Committee, said the conference represents one of the strategic objectives of the Public Health Department.
The highly interactive ‘Meet the Expert’ programme will provide the participants an opportunity to meet the top brains in food safety from all around the world, he said, adding that the conference will provide unparalleled opportunities for networking and sharing resources and ideas with each other.
