Harriet Williams, the duty forecaster at the Dubai International Airport Meteorological Center said, “There is a chance of fog for the next few days throughout the UAE. There will be a slight mist with low clouds at night which will carry through to the next morning.”

The heavy density fog on Sunday caused 20 minor traffic accidents in Dubai.

Dubai Police said the accidents were reported on various roads due to the fog which lasted from 6:30am to 10:30am.

The fog also caused delays to many flights at Sharjah Airport. Airport authorities said a few flights were delayed by over two hours on Friday.

Housam Raydan, Corporate Communications Manager of Air Arabia said,

“Certain flights from Sharjah Airport have been facing delays the last few days which is normal during this time of the year.”

He added that the flights were back on schedule on Sunday despite the weather.
