At Dubai International Airport (DIA), ten incoming flights were diverted, mainly between 6.15am and 8am, according to a Dubai Department of Civil Aviation official.
Some Etihad Airways flights departing from Abu Dhabi yesterday were cancelled because of the fog and passengers rebooked on other flights, according to Etihad spokesperson Tom Clarke.
Four arriving flights were diverted to Al Ain and the passengers were transported by coaches to Abu Dhabi.
At Sharjah International Airport, only two cargo flights were diverted but 12 passenger flights experienced between one and three hour delays, predominantly between 2am and 9am, according to airport duty manager Javed Abbasi.
