FNC launches ‘Electronic Parliament’ project

Dubai - The General Secretariat of the Federal National Council (FNC) has launched the ‘Electronic Parliament’ project, making the UAE the first Arab country to implement this system at the level of Arab parliaments.

The project aims to regulate the internal work for members of parliament (FNC) and employees of the general secretariat. It is a qualitative shift regarding the comprehensive parliamentary services.

Dr Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, secretary general of the FNC said the electronic parliament was created to provide the best and efficient accurate executive services of the MPs or employees at the secretariat, indicating that the system is ‘an electronic council that serves work of the FNC, progress of committee sessions and issues of the FNC sessions and all motions raised by MPs to the different ministries, as well as schedules of sessions and topics.

It also regulates the internal administrative system of employees of the secretariat in cases of internal and external corresponding, parliamentary works, MPs affairs and higher administrative affairs.

Al Mazrouei noted that the FNC is the first Arab parliament to introduce the electronic parliament system.
