FNC delegation attends G20 Speakers’ conference

RIYADH—Speaker of the UAE’s Federal National Council (FNC) Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr and the accompanying delegation attended the opening session of the 3rd Consultative Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of G20 Member States.

The conference held under the theme “Economic Growth for a Sustainable and Safe World” was inaugurated on Saturday by Speaker of Saudi Arabia’s Majlis Al-Shura Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheilh on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Participants in the two-day event are set to discuss important issues including international dialogue among cultures, the impact of the financial crisis on world stability and the role of energy for sustainable development.

Spain, Hungary, UAE, Jordan, Morocco, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and the International Parliamentary Union are attending the conference as observers.

The two-day conference will discuss issues related to dialogue between religions, cultures and civilisations, as well as sustainable energy and global financial crisis.
