Hamad Al Midfa, FNC member, said during the council's session recently that the new federal traffic law should include a deportation clause to be used against people who violate traffic laws, particularly those who use fake number plates or those who drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

In reply, the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Saif Abdulah Al Shafar, said the new traffic law is in line with those enforced in several advanced countries and all these countries have not yet fixed a deportation penalty.Maj Gen Al Shafar said the court concerned should decide on such issues.
