On November 8 last, one of the accused who works with the general trading company, had informed Dubai Police that he had been kidnapped and robbed of the Dh1,375,000 that his company’s director had asked him to withdraw from a bank.

He told the police he encashed the cheque of Dh1,375,000 from the bank located on Baniyas Road in Dubai and put in a bag. On his way back while he was walking in the bank area, two persons impersonating as police officers approached him and asked him to follow them to a parking area, he told the police. After reaching the parking, the two men, with help from two others, pushed him inside a car and drove the car towards the Dubai-Hatta Road, he told the police.

He said that once inside the car, he was beaten up by the four men, who pushed him out of the car in a deserted area and fled with the bag.

However, as the police started their investigations, they found several holes in the version of the accused.

According to the police, the accused had been helped by the four others in the crime. During their interrogation, they have all admitted to their crime.
