Mohammad, who caught the shark two days ago, was with a group of fishermen at the time, some 5km off the shores.
“As we were pulling up the net, we found a big fish was stuck to it. So we pulled it to shores using our boat,” he said. It was only upon reaching the shores they realised what it was. The fishermen immediately alerted the Kalba Municipality about it, who soon reached there. “This kind of fish is hard to catch as it lives very deep in the water. But this shark seemed to be ill. That’s why we were able to catch it,” Mohammad added.
