Fine Waiver for Companies
ABU DHABI - The Ministry of Labour (MoL) will waive the fines on companies which could not be issued labour cards due to the extended holiday period spanning the National Day and Eid Al Adha, according to a reliable source at the ministry.
The Acting Director-General on the MoL, Humaid bin Deemas, said on Monday that the companies which hadapplied for renewal of labour cards, new labour cards, temporary work permits or cancellation of visas, will not be fined as the holidays of National Day began on Tuesday and work will resume on December 14.
Meanwhile, sources in the ministry said that officials would visit companies and establishments after the holiday period to ensure the rights of employees who worked during the holidays.
