In a visit to the university campus in the capital, the British media group was apprised of the foundation and academic plans of ZU, which are oriented towards achieving the empowerment and emancipation of emirati women to fulfil one of the directives of the late president.
Dr Hanif Hassan, Vice-President of Zayed University, assured the production team that the ZU has been established to visualise the interests of the UAE in educating all nationals, especially emirati women and providing them with the best opportunities.
Since its establishment, the university has been adopting various methods of modern education, hi-tech techniques, as well as integrating excellent courses and programmes as stressed by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said Dr Hassan.
The British group toured the university’s library, laboratories and classrooms and were briefed on the university's experience in advanced education, academic programmes and courses that suit the requirements of the local labour market and target development of the students skills in time management, critical thinking, planning, administration, and self-confidence.
ZU students talked to the media group about the progress of emirati women in different educational, cultural and economical fields.
