First prize for the competition winner this year is an Apple Mac Pro with 30-INCH Cinema Display screen and a copy of Final Cut Studio 5.1, while the second prize winner receives a professional video camera. Third prize winner will receive admittance to a film course at a leading regional film institute.

Raymond Gedeon, MINI Brand Manager, BMW Group Middle East, described the MINI Film Festival as being all about “...encouraging aspiring local talent to pick up their cameras, shoot their own original short film and tell the world what it’s like to be living and dreaming and creating right here in the Middle East. You don’t necessarily need to include a MINI in your movie — just be free, be creative and be incredibly yourself.”

Interested filmmakers can download entry forms from www.Mini-me.com. To be eligible for consideration, they will need to incorporate the theme “Incredibly...” in the film or as part of the title, and deliver a finished film no longer than fifteen minutes on DVD, DV or VHS before November 1, 2007, to the regional partner locations listed on the web site. Films will be judged on creativity, originality, script/’no’ script, editing, and production and all entries must abide by Islamic and local customs.

The top 10 films will be selected by professional jury on November 17, with overall winners to be announced at the exclusive invitation-only gala screening event on November 29.
