A 32-year-old Filipino died after he drowned at Khorfakkan beach on Sunday. The deceased, who didn't know how to swim, fell in the water from a water ride game. He worked at a company that rented out water rides at the beach.

Lt. Abdulrahman Murad, duty officer at Khorfakkan Police Station, said that the deceased was asked by his coworker to try out a new ride which is fixed to the boat with a cord, and is pulled out of the water against the direction of air.

His colleague asked him to wear a life jacket but he refused. When the boat was pulling the ride he fell from it and drowned. His coworker tried to save his life but he failed.

He then informed the police who rushed to the area and with help of the air wing of the Ministry of Interior and a diver working for a hotel managed to recover the body in 45 minutes.
