After being treated at Saqr Hospital for her injury, the woman was handed over to the police for investigation.

It is learnt that the Filipina had entered the country just 45 days ago. She reportedly took a loan in her country to pay to a manpower agent in order to get a UAE visa through the labour office in Manila.

She had intended to repay her loan in instalments. After landing in UAE, she also spent some money on securing a job.

However, she soon realised that with the meagre salary she wouldn't be able to manage her life. The Criminal Investigation Department is probing the matter.
