`Fabulous Four' opens in Dubai

DUBAI - Saeed Al Raghabani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries opened the 'Fabulous Four' exhibition covering agriculture, floriculture, poultry and aquaculture/fishing sectors, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, on Monday.

The four-day fair, being held annually since 1997, has this year registered over 110 per cent growth over the previous year indicating a big scope for these sectors in the UAE.

Participants from across the globe representing 29 countries are participating at the show which under the 'Fabulous Four' banner comprises of four separate exhibitions - Agri Business Expo Middle east 2004, Middle East Flower and garden Show GARDENEX 2004, Middle East Poultry Show, and Middle East Aquaculture and Fishing Show 2004.

The participating countries this year include Germany, UK, Holland, Italy, Cyprus, Japan, Poland, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Lebanon, Singapore, Malta, Norway, Belgium, Iceland, Bahrain, Yemen, Sudan, Egypt, India, Korea, China, South Africa, Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Syria and Russia.

Making a debut at the 2004 exhibition is Sudan, with representation from various companies and states from the country. The Sudanese pavilion comprises 216 sq.metres consisting of 24 stands.

Organised by Mediac Communications and Exhibitions LLC, the 'Fabulous Four', is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, The Dubai Flower Centre and Flower and Plant Industry Association of the UAE.

The exhibition will remain open until April 29 from 10 am to 1pm and 5pm to 9pm daily for traders and the public.
