Ehab Zakria, a representative of the Publishing House Centre of the Arab Unity Studies in Lebanon, said that the current session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair had witnessed a big boost.

The new location is no doubt the best despite its distance from the city centre, he said.

Zakria said that his publishing house had won two prizes. The first was in translation category and the second for a book of prophecies.

Aliya Mahmoud, the representative of the Dar Al Fakr Al Araby of Egypt, said that the exhibition this year was no doubt better than previous years, in all respects.

In addition, the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation had made suitable public transport arrangements for exhibitors and visitors from the city centre to the location of the book fair, she stressed.

Buses are available to transport people to the venue of the book fair between 8.30am and 1.30pm and again between 4.30pm and 10pm.

Ali Salem of the Egyptian-Lebanese Publishing House, said the participation fee, which is estimated at $150 per square metre, is not far off from the prices of other international exhibitions around the world. In addition, the organisers have shared about 50 per cent of expenses for the transfer of exhibits.
