The annual exhibition, held under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was for both scholarship and private students, where leading Australian Institutions participated to promote the exchange of quality education between Australia and the UAE. Also present on the occasion was Jeremy Bruer, the Australian Ambassador to the UAE. He told Khaleej Times that the exhibition was designed to showcase the quality and diversity of academic programmes available from the participating Australian educational institutions.
“I am sure that the event will enable UAE students to find out more about our institutions and courses. Moreover, the Australian society will be enriched by their presence,” he added. Australia has a well-established educational relationship with the UAE.
For example, the University of Wollongong’s campus in Dubai, the Australian International School in Sharjah and the Australian Council for Educational Research. In addition, select Australian universities deliver their diplomas and degree programmes in partnership with the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE.
