Excellence workshop held for finance dept staff
DUBAI - The Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP) recently held a workshop for the employees of the Department of Finance to familiarise them with the requirements for achieving government excellence and the role of the programme in cultivating a deep-rooted excellence culture in the government.
The emirate’s government launched the programme nearly 15 years ago. The programme has contributed effectively in boosting the culture of excellence, upgrade the performance and quality in government institutions as well as spreading the concepts of excellence and creativity.
Among those present was Abdul Rahman Al Saleh, Director-General of the Department of Finance, who welcomed the team of the programme, and stressed the importance on excellence as an organisational approach.
He also underlined the support of the Department of Finance, and participation in all initiatives and programmes planned to be conducted.
Ahmed Al Nuseirat, Coordinator-General of the DGEP, delivered a lecture on the role and experience of the programme, which has contributed to the improvement of the government sector’s performance.
“The programme implements the directives and vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the chief aim of making Dubai a city of excellence and creativity, and also the preferred metropolis for finance and business.”
The DGEP has contributed effectively in developing the culture of government work in the emirate, and in building and striking root of the requirements of the modern management and services.
