Employers to pay for abscounding staff
ABU DHABI — Any employer who fails to inform the authorities about his absconding worker and, instead, allows him/her to work with other sponsors in violation of the law, will have to bear the cost of the air-ticket for the return of the worker to his home country after completion of the formalities, Brigadier Nasser Al Menhali, director of Abu Dhabi Naturalisation and Residency Department (NRD), has said.
All illegal workers, who are currently completing the procedures at the NRD to return home, having availed themselves of the amnesty, have to buy air-tickets on their own.
