The iQ selection figures also reveal that the number of jobs offered by the market for UAE graduates increased three-fold in 2006 as compared to 2005, and all of these positions were duly filled by UAE nationals.

As Dubai attracts hundreds of thousands of skilled expatriate workers every year, a growing number of initiatives, with the support of the international community, are helping the cause of Emiratisation.

Richard Ingram, managing director of iQ selection said: "We'll continue to work closely with the leading educational bodies and all the major organisations in Dubai to help the top employers spot the best local graduate talents in the region."

Osama Ali, who leads the iQ selection's Emiratisation team, said, "We have seen a significant increase in the number of requests for talented Emirati graduates to fill in entry level positions in recent months. We are encouraging each of these clients to expedite their recruitment."
