The event that was held at the Teachers' Hall here, was attended by Shaikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, who gave away awards to outstanding drivers, and staff and representatives of various government departments, media and voluntary organisations.
The event was part of Emirates Transport's endeavour to recognise best practices among drivers and school staff.
Obaid Buraiky, Ras Al Khaimah branch manager of Emirates Transport, said the firm, which provides transportation services for public schools in the emirate, is committed to the best safety practices in its daily operations. "Our drivers are provided regular training and refresher courses to ensure utmost safety to the students," said Buraiky.
During the function, a short film featuring safety awareness programmes undertaken by the firm was also screened.
