Emirates Post launches blood donation drive

DUBAI — Emirates Post has launched a blood donation campaign in different locations, including Abu Dhabi Central Post Office, Deira Main Post Office, Karama Central Post Office and Sharjah Central Post Office.

The campaign, which started on Wednesday, will run until March 6 at different locations on different days. The campaign took off at Abu Dhabi Central Post Office in coordination with Abu Dhabi Central Blood Bank and Department of Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

Cabinet members greeted

DUBAI — The Board of Trustees of the Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Culture Foundation congratulated its two members Dr Anwar Gergash and Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais for their appointment in the new Cabinet announced on Friday. The board also hailed their efforts in serving culture and society in general and wished them more success. This was during the board's meeting held on February 13 headed by Dr Khalifa Bakhit Al Falasi, Chairman of the board.

Sniffer dogs show

DUBAI —The General Department of Criminal Investigation has called upon education officials and parents to accompany their children to attend an exhibition of sniffer dogs which will be organised by Master Food company today at Horse Racing Track in Nad Al Sheba in Dubai. The exhibition will open from 8am and continue until 6pm.

Lieutenant Abdul Salam Al Shamsi, Director of Sniffer dog Training Department of Dubai Police said that different types of sniffer dogs will demonstrate their skills before a panel of judges who will select the most beautiful, smart, intelligent, older and smaller dogs

Meet on road accident prevention

ABU DHABI — The General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police will organise the 10th International Conference of the International Organisation for Road Accident Prevention from March 26 to 29. The event will be held under the auspices of Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nayan. Colonel Hasan Ahmed Al Hosani, Director of Media and Public Relations Department and Secretary of the Road Safety Association, told a Press conference that the conference would be held for the first time in the UAE.

DuBiotech hosts meeting

DUBAI — DuBiotech, hosted this week a meeting that brought together various players in the UAE’s life sciences sector to discuss various issues and challenges related to clinical research in the UAE. The meeting was attended by representatives of government bodies from across the UAE, medical and pharmaceutical companies, educational institutions and other domestic and overseas organisations involved in the promotion of life sciences.
