The works included redesigning the centre to increase its daily capacity from 2800 customers to around 3200 customers. This should in turn help upgrade the level of services provided by Emirates ID to meet the requirements of the ‘Emirates Distinguished Government Services Program’ towards achieving the ‘7-star’ classification.
Nasser Al Mazrouei, Head of Registration Centres Sector at Emirates ID, said the renovation project is in line with the Authority’s ongoing endeavour to upgrade the level of its service facilities, and its quest to provide innovative and distinguished services thereby satisfy customers and draw smiles on their faces.
He added that the renovation works included carrying out several improvements in the centre including redesigning it according to the open office system, expanding its area to increase its daily capacity, and setting up a children play corner and a coffee shop. This falls within the framework of renovation project aimed at improving Emirates ID centres across the UAE to provide qualitative and distinguished customer services according to the highest global standards.
Al Mazrouei noted that the number of registration counters in the centre was increased to 25; 16 to serve men and 9 for ladies. 11 out of the 16 counters allocated for men are for registration, 2 for customer service and 3 for data updates. He clarified that the centre provides all services related to registration in the population register and the ID card, including new registration, renewal of expired ID cards, replacement of damaged or lost cards as well as data updates and amendments. The centre provides customers with free parking areas. It is open from 7:00AM till 8:00PM. It also provides several facilities for people with special needs such as parking spaces, special service counters and wheel chairs to make the process easy for them.
Al Mazrouei said that having been renovated, the centre provides customers with several value-added services including coffee shop, children play area and prayer rooms for men and ladies. Throughout the working hours, the centre serves dates, juices and cold water as well as provides wireless internet 'Wi-Fi' service.
