Emirates flight to Berlin soon
BERLIN — Emirates airlines may soon add the German capital Berlin as its fifth destination in Germany.
The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, who received His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the German capital yesterday, said she hoped that Emirates would soon open a new flight route to Berlin.
She also hinted that the two countries would soon hold discussions on how best to achieve this objective.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit during his grand civic reception for the visiting UAE dignitary had also endorsed this proposal. He too had expressed similar optimism that Emirates is soon granted landing rights in Berlin.
