The Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia has called on all Muslims throughout the Kingdom to sight the crescent of the month of Shawwal on Friday evening, Ramadan 29.

In its announcement, the Supreme Court called on whoever sights the crescent with naked eyes or through binoculars to report to a nearest court and register his testimony, or report to an authority of a region's centre in his area.
Yesterday, the UAE announced the formation of a moon-sighting committee to spot the crescent. The committee will meet after the Maghrib prayers on Friday, May 22, to spot the crescent.
