Education Ministry media department director quits
DUBAI - Abdul Noor Ahmed Al Hashmi, Director of Media Department at the Ministry of Education and Youth, resigned yesterday following criticisms by assistant Under-Secretaries at the ministry, who allegedly accused the department of conniving with media organs in carrying reports about their poor performance and shortcomings.
Dr Ali Abdul Aziz Al Sharhan, Minister of Education and Youth, accepted the resignation of Al Hashimi, who insisted on quitting the job. Dr Sharhan also referred the matter to Dr Jamal Al Mohiri, Under-Secretary in the ministry.
Meanwhile, in another development, a director of an educational zone said he would resign because he did not want to work under the unhealthy atmosphere. The director, who talked on condition of anonymity, said that it would be very difficult to work under the given conditions.
