Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor of Bits-Pillani, Dr S. Venkateswaran, said: "Bits-Pillani aims at producing useful students with bigger and better achievements. Over the next four years, we will be increasing the number of students to 350 to 400, while the campus, too, will be bigger."
The Indian Ambassador to the UAE, C.M. Bhandari, who was the chief guest, said: "As children we were told to acquire education as well as learn about human values because this is what we need to be equipped with in the future. This is what I have learnt during the three decades of my public service. It is our younger generation that will carry the country to the future."
Speaking to Khaleej Times, the successful students said they were very optimistic about their future.
Dheeraj Hashia, who completed the four-year degree course in Engineering, said he has already found employment. "I have been appointed as a Sales Engineer at Al Gurg Electronics. This was all done through campus placements. I have already stepped into the threshold of my future, and am looking forward to it eagerly," he added.
Saima Khan, who has completed CSE, said she was happy to be associated with Bits-Pillani, but was not yet decided on a career. Priya Bahl, also a student of CSE, said she already had a temporary job while Shahid Shaikh, a student of EEE, said that he was holding the post of a sales executive, and hoped to continue with his MBA education.
Bits-Pillani was established in 2000 and has over 900 students from all over the Middle East.
