The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) announced that it has now achieved 92 per cent Emiratisation. The number of its Emirati employees now is 336 across all branches.

Special efforts were taken on Emiratisation on the directives of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to appoint locals in all sectors as it is the government’s priority.

Addressing reporters Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the SEDD, said “We have taken the necessary procedures to raise the rate of Emiratisation at all functional levels, implementing the directives and recommendations of the Sharjah Executive Council.”

The SEDD has provided a suitable environment for young local cadres to take over various functional roles as instructed by Shaikh Sultan, he said.

The move is also a part of the SEDD’s strategic plan to develop human resources by increasing competitiveness to attract high professional competencies, establishing a comprehensive system to encourage employees, and paying attention to improve their skills scientifically and practically.
