East Corniche Road now fully operational
ABU DHABI — Work on the East Corniche Road in Abu Dhabi has been completed, it was announced by Mubarak Al Junaibi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Municipality.
East Corniche Road is an extension of the New Corniche Road West, and comes as part of the expansion of public parks and recreation areas, including new waterfront facilities.
“All roads, tunnels and pedestrian facilities are now open to the public,” Al Junaibi said.
“The project, which stretches from Sheraton Hotel up to Mina Zayed, is a well-planned investment for the future. It embodies the far-sighted vision of Abu Dhabi leaders,” he added.
Meanwhile, the civic body will soon start work on the development of Salam Street.
The project includes linking the 640-metre Salam Tunnel with Corniche Street, he said.
