East Coast focus on safe driving

FUJAIRAH — As many as 25 distinguished drivers and more than 20 veteran drivers were honoured by the East Coast branch of Emirates Transport at a ceremony at the Institute of Applied Technology, Fujairah.

The event was part of the week-long traffic safety awareness programme ‘Return to Schools...Return to Safety’.

Present at the ceremony was Engineer Shaikh Mohammad bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director of the E-government Department.

Among the awareness week activities would be psychological and practical preparation for school bus drivers before the start of the academic year, through lectures and training programmes.

Mohammad Suhil Saeed, manager of East Coast branch of Emirates Transport, said the branch serves 104 schools in the Fujairah Educational Zone and Sharjah Educational Office. He added that around 34,000 students had used the transport last year.
