EA to launch eco, health project tomorrow

ABU DHABI — The Environment Agency (EA) will launch the Environment, Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) project tomorrow.

The projects will be launched during the national symposium to be held on February 25 and 27 at the Inter-Continental Hotel.

The symposium is being organised as per the recommendations of the EHS Higher Committee, which was established by Abu Dhabi Emirate Executive Council on June 11, 2007 and for the purpose of launching the Environment, Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS).

The symposium aims to promote the importance of implementing the EHSMS and its benefits.

It will focus on the main elements of the system and its requirements, in addition to the mechanism for implementation at emirate and sector levels.

Participants in the symposium include members of the EHS Higher Committee, members of the EHS Technical Sector Committees and representatives from different establishments under the seven sectors which include: Building and Construction, Industry, Transportation, Tourism, Health, Oil and Gas and Energy.

In addition to representative of other concerned parties in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
