DVD directory on Sharjah's educational system soon

SHARJAH — The Sharjah Education Zone and University of Sharjah yesterday announced plans to launch “See Sharjah-Educational”, a DVD directory that will provide parents, students, teachers, educational institutions, government authorities and educational suppliers with essential information on all issues related to the field.

Addressing a Press conference, Abdul Aziz Al Midfa'a, chairman of the 'See Sharjah' project, said, “With this, we aim to help position Sharjah as a main destination for educational tourism.

"His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, is giving his utmost attention to the sector to make the emirate a minaret for science and education, an example to be followed and a destination to be visited."

The project is supported by both the private and government sectors.

After the launch, 'See Sharjah — Leisure' DVDs will be distributed in May, Heballah Habib, Director of the project, said.

"See Sharjah — Educational is the second among the nine specialised guides and directories "See Sharjah" plans to release. It is a massive bilingual database to attract investors to the emirate and to lead students and others towards the educational facilities, activities and events held annually in Sharjah and a guide on how to reach the various educational services and products available."

Some 100,000 bilingual (Arabic and English) DVD copies will be distributed at strategic locations such as government departments, universities, schools, airport, hotels, shopping centres, exhibitions, conferences and other functions.
