The family day brings together students and their family members to discuss learning opportunities available for students on campus, the importance of family’s involvement in the educational accomplishments of students, and the services and programmes available to students at the college.

This year, the programme focused on the significance of effective communication between the college and parents of students for the better future of DWC graduates.

The day’s theme was “Together for Better Education”.

Dr Howard Reed, in his welcome speech, asked parents to get more involved in decision-making on selecting the most appropriate academic programmes for students.

“The academic and professional success of your daughters depends a lot on your involvement and support to them at this critical stage in their life,” he noted.

Dr Aisha Bilkhair, Supervisor of the Career Centre at Dubai Women’s College, talked about the Emiratisation challenges and introduced services and training programmes provided by the Centre to all students.

Bilkhair said that a very large percentage of Dubai Women’s College graduates are currently employed and reaffirmed the college’s goal of achieving 100 per cent employment of its graduates.
