Dubai will host security summit

DUBAI — A National Security Summit in October will see security experts discussing increasing threats to the region and suggest best practices to improve national resilience in case of national emergencies.

According to a Press release, the International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC), a global provider of tailored, knowledge-driven conferences, is addressing the topic of national security in the Middle East at the two-day National Security Summit, set to take place on October 27 and 28 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai.

Dan Healy, CEO of Real Opinions, and one of the speakers to address the event, said, "The National Security Summit will facilitate a better understanding of the sociological, economic and political climate of the region, which will enable leaders to make informed decisions based upon their potential impact."

Speakers at the event include Dr Piers Miller, Office for Disarmament Affairs, United Nations, Colonel Azhar Al-Kindi, Director Executive for Civil Defence, Oman Police Headquarters and Mohammed Rashid Muhairi, Director, Tourist Security Department, Dubai Police, among others.
